When Is This Needed?
If the original GMADA allottee has died, the property must first be transferred to the legal heirs (or Will beneficiary) before it can be sold or otherwise dealt with.
No Will (Natural Succession)
- Application form for transfer on the basis of death
- Original Death Certificate
- Legal Heir Certificate from the SDM/Tehsildar
- Liability Affidavit and identity proof from all legal heirs
- Mortgage clearance/Redemption Deed, if mortgaged
- Certified copy of the court order, if a Succession Certificate has been issued
Where There Is a Will
- Death Certificate and copy of the Will
- Affidavits/NOCs from legal heirs, where applicable
- Identity proofs; affidavit of attesting witnesses for an unregistered Will
- Mortgage clearance, if applicable
Processing Time
- 10 working days for transfer based on a Legal Heir Certificate
- 45 working days for transfer based on a registered or unregistered Will
